We are thrilled that you have chosen to be baptized. Baptism is a big deal. It's an event you will probably remember for the rest of your life. Before you get baptized, we wanted to discuss with you some things about the gospel and baptism so that you feel ready and confident.
We'll do that by working through 6 Questions
Question #1 - Why do you have eternal life? Select One

that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
The Bible tells us plainly that eternal life comes from believing in Jesus, nothing else but Jesus.
Question #2 - Why were the other answers to question #1 wrong?
Ephesians 2:8-10
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Those answers were wrong because salvation and eternal life is by ________________.

What is grace? Unmerited Favor. Grace is getting something wonderful that you did not work for or earn.

Are those wrong answers (A,B,C from Question 1) bad things? No. They are all good things that God likes, but doing good things for God does not make us saved. Doing good things for God happens after we are saved. Ephesians 2:10 says we are created for ___________ __________, but those good works come after we are saved.
We do good things for God not so that we may have eternal life. We do good things for God because we already have eternal life.

What does Justify mean? Justify means to be declared righteous by God.
Believing in Jesus means trusting in Jesus for salvation. We don't trust in ourselves. We don't trust in our church. We don't trust in a list of rules. We trust in Jesus, and we are saved.
